SVT-40 (Tokarev's Autoloading Rifle)

 In 1940, on change of 7,62-mm to a sniper rifle of the sample 1891/30 the new 7,62-mm a sniper autoloading rifle of system of Tokarev (SVT) the sample 1940 comes (From SVT-38 differs in the smaller length and in weight. SVT-38 for the first time in armies it was applied in war with Finland 1939-40) Sniper rifle SVT-40, differed from base model of regular rifle SVT-40 not only presence of new universal 3,5-fold optical sight PU (a sight universal, developed specially for sniper SVT-40), calculated on range of shooting up to 1300 m, but also and processing of the channel of a trunk on precision machine tools for increase fight. For the first time in armies it was applied in war with Finland 1939-40. Sight PU has been considerably facilitated in comparison with predecessors and weighed only 0,27 kg. Fastening of sight ПУ by an arm from above on to a box, also developed by F.V.Tokarevym, allowed to conduct shooting with the open sector sight on range up to 600 m. Greater achievement of new sniper autoloading rifle SVT in comparison with Mosin's store rifle there was its raised rate of fire - from 25 up to 40 aim shots in a minute. Sniper rifles SVT-40 were widely used basically for shooting on the removed purposes
